Can be used in both coats or just top coat if required. We stock 0.05L hardener(for 1L tins of Hardwax oil) & 0.125L hardener(for 2.5L tins of Hardwax oil)
Use Treatex® Isoparaffin when treating oily/dense timbers e.g. Iroko, Ipe, Teak, Jarrah, Merbau etc. Treatex®Isoparaffin is used to thin Treatex® Hardwax Oil Traditional so that it can properly penetrate into oily and dense timbers. It is very important to keep your floor clean - the result of people walking on a dirty and dusty floor is no different to a high-powered sander at work! Use a soft brush or vacuum cleaner with a soft floor attachment to keep your floor free from abrasive particles. A good doormat will help. To protect your floor we recommend all furniture be fitted with felt pads.
When your floor gets dirty wash using Treatex® Floor Care, which is designed to clean and maintain UV Oiled floors and those finished with Treatex® Hardwax Oil Traditional without making the surface slippery. Treatex® Floor Care contains vegetable oils and carnauba wax, this means that as the floor is cleaned a thin replenishing and protective layer of wax is also applied. Treatex® Floor Care has a neutral PH value and contains no solvents, other brands of cleaning products may contain detergents that could damage your floor. For normal soiling dilute 25-50 ml of Treatex® Floor Care in 5 litres of water. Mop the surface with this solution ensuring that the mop is only damp and never wet. Treatex® Floor Care can be applied using a mop or slow buffing machine with a white pad. Treatex® Floor Care is now available in a convenient ready to use spray.
Areas of high wear can be renovated using Treatex® Preparation Cleaner and Treatex® Wax Polish. Treatex® Preparation Cleaner is an aggressive cleaner which prepares surfaces for refinishing and Treatex® Wax Polish is a diluted version of Treatex® Hardwax Oil Traditional. Begin by diluting Treatex® Preparation Cleaner in water at a ratio of 1:100 (50 ml to 5 litres of water). Mop the surface with this solution, ensuring that the mop is only damp and never wet. After using the solution, mop the floor with clean water to remove any residue and leave to dry for approximately 3 hours. Once dry, apply Treatex® Wax Polish to a small area at a time, either by wiping on a thin coat using a lint free cloth - taking care not to leave cloth marks, or by buffing using a white pad under a slow machine ensuring the surface is buffed until there are no swirl marks. Allow to dry for three to four hours. For areas of very high wear a thin coat of Treatex®Hardwax Oil Traditional can be applied instead of Treatex® Wax Polish to surfaces cleaned with Treatex® Preparation Cleaner
